New Virtual Missions Kit Empowers Churches to Serve Globally Without Travel
At Switchboard, we believe every Christian has something valuable to offer in global missions—but for many, the barriers of travel, time, and fundraising can make traditional mission work feel out of reach. Meanwhile, missionaries around the world are tackling challenges that require skills like marketing, technology, and financial management—areas where the local church is filled with untapped expertise.
What if believers could bridge that gap from where they are right now?
That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the Virtual Missions Kit, a groundbreaking new resource developed in partnership with Christar and Pioneers, with support from a Missio Nexus Innovation Grant. This kit is designed to equip churches with everything they need to mobilize their congregations for meaningful, skill-based mission work—without the need to leave home.
Equipping Churches for Global Impact
The Virtual Missions Kit provides pastors, missions teams, and church leaders with practical tools to introduce virtual missions in their congregations. It includes:
- Step-by-step guides for integrating virtual missions into church life.
- Presentation materials (slides, handouts, and videos) to engage members.
- The Switchboard skill assessment to help believers identify how their expertise fits into missions.
- Ongoing support, including a network of churches pioneering virtual missions together.
“Switchboard’s Virtual Missions Kit changes how we think about mobilizing people toward the Great Commission,” said Keaton Koch, pastor of mobilization at Grace Covenant Church of Austin. “This resource helps churches remove traditional barriers to missions involvement, allowing more believers to contribute their skills in meaningful ways.”

With the support of the Missio Nexus Innovation Grant, this kit is just the beginning. Future resources will continue to expand how churches, missionaries, and faith-based organizations can harness the power of virtual missions.
