Isn’t it amazing how God can turn even the most disruptive seasons into tools for His glory? God didn’t send the Covid-19 pandemic—but He certainly used it to break me down and bring me back to Him. The pandemic stripped away my distractions and excuses. In the quiet, God began working on my heart.
That transformation was at the forefront of my mind last month as I stood on stage at the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) in Austin, Texas. Looking out over the crowd, I could trace the milestones of my journey—where I began, how far I’ve come, and the faithful steps God has ordered along the way. We serve a God who is present in the process, not just the outcome.
Over the past five years, He’s been integrating Jesus into every part of my life—how I approach my work, spend my time, steward my money, and most importantly, how I build and nurture relationships. One by one, the areas I once compartmentalized have been surrendered to Him.
My GLS journey began in 2021. I was a brand-new Christian and a brand-new leader, hungry for wisdom, guidance, and truth. I sat in those sessions like a sponge, soaking up every bit of insight from the speakers, still unsure of my calling but open to God’s leading.
In 2022, I returned to GLS stronger in my faith and eager to connect with other Believers. I no longer came just to receive; I came to engage, to pray, to build relationships that would sharpen me and help me grow.
Then came 2023. I had no idea that just weeks after attending GLS that year, God would completely redirect my career path. I was introduced to Switchboard, a global mobilizing platform connecting mission teams with skilled Believers worldwide for virtual volunteering. It was as if God had been preparing me all along for this exact opportunity—to merge my professional skills with my passion for Kingdom work.
By 2024, I attended GLS not just as a participant but as a member of the Switchboard team. I remember the thrill of seeing our name listed among the conference sponsors. It was a tangible sign of how God had moved me from being a seeker in the audience to an active contributor in the mission field.
And then came 2025. This year, I didn’t just attend GLS—I had the honor of emceeing the Austin host site. Standing on that stage, I shared my testimony of God’s faithfulness and the transformative journey He has taken me on. It was humbling and exhilarating all at once. I could see how each year’s experience—each small step of obedience—had been building toward this moment, a living record of God’s faithfulness and proof that He takes the smallest seeds of faith and grows them into something that can bless others.
What I’ve learned through these five years is this: transformation doesn’t happen overnight. God works in seasons, layers, and processes. Sometimes it feels slow. Sometimes it feels like nothing is happening at all. But then one day, you look back and realize you’re standing in a place you couldn’t have imagined at the start.
For me, that place is a life integrated with Christ at the center. A life where my work is Kingdom work. Where my time is intentionally spent on what matters most. Where my finances are a tool for generosity, not just security. Where relationships are nurtured with grace, truth, and love. And it’s not just my story—this is the story God wants to write for each of us.
Whatever your starting point, He’s ready to transform it. Whatever feels broken, He can use it. Whatever you think is “off limits” for God’s touch—He’ll lovingly claim it for His purposes if you let Him. So here’s my encouragement to you: say yes to the process. Lean into the seasons where you’re just listening and learning. Don’t rush the years of quiet growth. Because one day, you’ll step into a moment and realize—this is what He’s been preparing you for all along.
And when that day comes, you’ll be able to stand—whether it’s on a stage, in a boardroom, at a kitchen table, or on a mission field—and proclaim, “Look what the Lord has done.”
